Some men will cheat no matter what, and some women drive their men to cheat, but usually it's a combination of problems with the relationship, and his own emotional problems that cause a man to have an affair with another woman.

Is he cheating due to the fact that he has emotion problems he needs to deal with?

On the surface the reasons men cheat may seem insignificant, but if he's feeling them with enough intensity he's going to act on them.

• Mid life crisis. He realizes that he's getting older and life is passing him by. Having an affair with a younger woman makes him feel young and vital again.


• If he grew up in an environment where cheating was rampant, he would have come to the conclusion that it is a normal and acceptable behavior.


• Having a younger woman that finds him attractive is a huge boost to his ego.


• The thrill. The fear of getting caught is a huge adrenaline rush.


• Having sex with more than one woman increases the chance of a man's genes being passed on. It's part of our biological programming.


• He may have finally given in to the curiosity about what it would be like to have an affair.

Is he cheating because he feels his emotional or sexual needs aren't be fulfilled by you?

• His accomplishments are important to him and if you don't notice or seem to care he may be cheating in an attempt to get your attention.


• If you have let your relationship go stale and predictable with the same routine every day he may start to feel that theres no excitement in the marriage anymore and start looking elsewhere to fulfill his need for a little spice in his life.


• He may be using another woman to satisfy his sexual cravings if he's finding the sex life at home is getting boring.


• Every couple will have their disagreements from time to time, but if the bickering and fighting start to be happening more and more often you are headed for trouble, and he may already be seeking solace in some other woman's arms.

You have every right to expect him to be faithful to you, even if you can't be perfect all the time, but you should understand that it's a least a bit possible that you had a small part to play in his decision to cheat on you.
